PAIWASTOON's focus is 'Making IT work for Afghanistan' and specializes in Open Source Software, localization and reducing bandwidth requirements. If you have an RFP that requires innovative, cost effective solutions then our expertise can help! We regret that for most 'standard' jobs such as network cabling, Internet service provision, etc. we will not be able to bid in order that we focus on our strengths.  We will though of course try to help you in finding those that can help.

Our Experience

PAIWASTOON is currently implementing the One Laptop Per Child project in Afghanistan on behalf of Afghanistan Small and Medium Enterprise Development (ASMED) / USAID in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communication and IT and Roshan. This involves conducting teacher training, setting up schools with connectivity, human power research, and more. See www.olpc.af for details.

We are also implementing the Afghanistan IT Business Network in partnership with ASMED (USAID) to provide a greater skill base in the IT that businesses in Afghanistan need the most.

Our office has been run on open source software from laptop to router to server for the last 2 years. We have localized web applications, bandwidth optimized hosting and more.
